"The Cross at Atwick" is a nice old watercolour dating from about 1780. There is an inscription on the reverse "93 Dade No. 2". On the front is the inscription "Engraved for Dade's History & Antiquities of Holderness". William Dade (c1740-1790) was an English cleric and antiquary. This watercolour seems to be the original for an engraving in his "..History and Antiquities of Holderness".
