John Barrie Haste (1931-2011) was a British artist known for his watercolour paintings. He studied at Leeds College of Art and Lincoln College while serving in the RAF. Haste's work is influenced by the Norwich School, particularly Cotman and Turner, and he is known for his meticulous attention to detail and ability to capture the play of light on water and ancient stone. His favorite city, Venice, inspired many of his paintings. Haste's art has been exhibited in prestigious shows such as "Britain in Watercolour" and the Royal Society of Marine Artists. His works are now highly prized and are held in good private and public galleries and collections.
