Tom Dudley (1857-1935) was born in York and first trained as an architect. He took lessons from William James Boddy and is known for his townscapes mainly painted in watercolours. His work was shown in public and private galleries throughout the U.K.
"Bootham Bar Within" is an attractive example measuring 10"x 6". It is signed lower right and inscribed and dated 1877. It is unframed.
