This attractive painting by the Sheffield artist Thomas Peters (1863-1939) is signed lower right. The canvas measures 14"x 10" and is framed in a good old gilt frame giving an overall size of 19"x 16". On the reverse is the inscription "On Cordwell Valley between Barlow and Sheffield" and the date 1922. Peters was born in Stoney Middleton, Derbyshire and later lived in Sheffield. He was a pupil of Stanley Royle.
