Nelson interest: "Design for the Monument on Calton Hill Edinburgh"

Of Nelson interest, this design after A. Nasmyth measures 19"x 9" and is inscribed below "To His Royal Highness George, Prince of Wales, This engraving of the Monument intended to be erected on the Calton Hill, Edinburgh in Memory of the Gallant Nelson is most humbly described by his most devoted servant the Authur A. Nasmyth." Aquatint by R. Scott. 

Note: this design by Nasmyth was not used, judged to be too expensive.
